Mrs. Namakau Kakanda Sinkala

Mrs. Namakau Kakanda Sinkala is a Senior Lecturer – General Management under the Distance Learning Division. Mrs. Sinkala has over 10 years’ experience in training at tertiary level and her expertise is in the area of Home Economics, Child Development and Development studies.  She has also worked as a research consultancy conducting baseline surveys, mid- term reviews and end of project evaluations for CAMFED, World Vision and Plan international. She has written a number of training modules for distance learning: Introduction to Development Studies; Disaster Management; Human Development; and Theories of Development Administration.



Benefits for students      

Mrs. Sinkala coordinates the part-time (evening) classes of the Institute. She also coordinates research for diploma and undergraduate students under the Distance Learning. Students under distance learning and part-time modes of study can refer queries to her office.

Qualifications

  • She is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Social Development with the University of Witwatersrand (Johannesburg, South Africa);
  • Master’s Degree in Development Studies (Social Policy) from University of KwaZulu – Natal (Durban, South Africa);
  • Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) majoring in Home Economics and Child Development from the University of Namibia.

  4. and Theories of Development Administration.

Research interests

Her research passion is in social development issues, and development administration. Mrs. Sinkala also enjoys doing community work.
