MASTER OF INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS AND DIPLOMACY

BRIEF DESCRIPTION
The Master of International Relations and Diplomacy (MIRD) aims at inculcating students with relevant skills for various research activities and careers in the field of international relations and diplomacy. Therefore, the programme focuses on fundamental aspects shaping the interaction of states and other non-state actors at the International stage. The Master of International Relations and Diplomacy (MIRD) is an academic programme whose scope is broad but largely focuses on understanding the dynamics inherent in the development and implementation of public policies. Subsequently the programme is intended to equip post graduate students with advanced knowledge in public administration and analytical skills to manage and cope with emerging issues and challenges resulting from the dynamics of the global settings.

PROGRAMME AIM
The Master of International Relations and Diplomacy seeks to produce a pool of professionals in the field of international relations and diplomacy who are equipped with advanced analytical and research skills and academic knowledge. Its main thrust is to develop basic foundational skills needed by international relations practitioners who can work with international organisations, research and think tanks, academic institutions, government institutions, and international development organisations. To achieve its main purpose, the programme is designed to bridge the gap between practice and theoretical foundations of inter-state relations.

MODES OF STUDY
The Programme will be offered on full time, block release and part time basis.

CAMPUS LOCATION
The MPA is offered at our Main Campus in Lusaka.

DURATION
The Programme will be offered on full time, block release and part time basis.

The Thesis in Master of International Relations and Diplomacy (MIRD) is submitted in the second year. .
