About us

DR. Maimbolwa SEPO IMASIKU (PhD)

Dr. Imasiku has worked in the corporate industry in Zambia and Australia prior to joining the world of academia. She Joined Mulungushi University in 2011 as Coordinator and Assistant Director under Distance Learning and moved on to Lecturer II under the School of Business. She joined NIPA in December 2018 as Director Business Studies Division. In addition to her role as Director, she is also the Coordinator of Graduate Studies at NIPA. Dr. Imasiku is an alumni of the United States of America SUSI programme of 2018 resident at New York University. She is also an alumni of the Shanghai Open University Scholars programme of November 2016. She has worked with a number of organisations in Zambia to help them build capacity as well as share her knowledge through Community service activities. Some of the initiatives include, the training of Inmates (and Trainer of Trainers) from the Zambia Correctional Service and Katombora Reformatory for troubled Teens.

  • Certificate on Cross Cultural understanding and strategies for business growth in emerging economies (IMM, New Delhi)
  • Chartered Institute of Marketing (London)

Research interests

Dr. Imasiku has an interest in marketing related research, particularly social media marketing, tourism marketing and social marketing as well as international business related research. Some of her prior articles have featured topics outside this scope such as: “Educating students with Physical Disabilities”. This is due to her passion for helping better her country through community service.Dr. Imasiku has also presented papers at various conferences in Dubai, Shanghai, Dar es Salaam, Kampala and Lusaka.
