The Research Consultancy Development Division (RCDD) travelled to Ndola to train SOS Village staff on Monitoring and Evaluation Systems.

“RCDD was contracted by SOS Village School to deliver a five days training in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E)- from 18th to 22nd January 2021. The training was focused on equipping the trainees with fundamental concepts and knowledge about M&E,” explained Principal Research Consultant— Marketing, Dr Lucy Nyundo.

The training participants were mainly social workers with degree level education in either Development Studies or Social Work and one supervisor with master’s level education. The participants’ knowledge in M&E has since increased.

The training was delivered by two M&E experts; Dr. Muchemwa Sinkala and Dr. Progress Choongo while Dr. Nyundo coordinated the workshop.

SOS Village school is an International non-governmental organization (NGO) which was established in 1949, operates in 135 countries- including Zambia.

SOS is focused on developing children through education by paying school fees for vulnerable children, strengthening families and funding construction of education facilities such class rooms and ablution blocks.

SOS resolved to invest in an M&E system, develop skills among its employees in order to enhance accountability and generate evidence for continued donor funding.
